OCOD AGILITY CLASSES
OCOD offers a variety of Agility Classes designed for the beginning handler up to the seasoned handler. Our volunteer instructors are experienced and create fun, challenging classes to help you achieve your agility goals. Whether you want to do it for fun, for exercise or to compete we have the class for you!!
These group classes are not suitable for aggressive or reactive dogs.
All dogs must have completed Basic Obedience or higher obedience level classes or an agility class. For a current schedule and /or more information, please contact the agility training director – randylindahudak@bellsouth.net
Classes offered are as follows:
Agility Foundation 1 and 2 – at the Training Center
This class meets at the Training Center located at 1276 8th Street in Daytona Beach. This class is designed to teach new teams flatwork, team work, jumping skills, weaves and the various crosses used in agility. The class is limited to 6 teams and preregistration is required. Your dog must have a good sit, stay, down and recall and be at least 6 months old to attend this class. All applicants must have successfully completed a basic obedience/manners class.
Agility Pre-Novice at Silver Sands Bridle Club
Pre-requisite: Agility Foundation 1
This class meets on Wednesdays at 5:00PM to begin setup for a 6 pm class at Silver Sands Bridle Club on Tomoka Farms Road. Teams will be introduced to contact equipment, begin running sequences, motivation and reading course maps.
Novice and Open Classes
These classes meet on Wednesdays at 5pm to begin setup for a 6pm class at Silver Sands Bridle Club on Tomoka Farms Road. These classes are designed to teach and build the skills necessary for a successful team. Each class emphasizes focus, motivation, jumping skills, distance work, weaving skills and speed.
Excellent/Master Class
This class meets on Wednesdays at Silver Sands Bridle Club on Tomoka Farms Road.
This class is for those that are currently competing at the Exc/Mas level.
Novice, Open and Exc/Mas
Pre-registration is required for all classes and applications are due 1 week before the start of the class.
*OCOD also offers Drop-In Classes with Advanced Approval and Agility Run Thru Nights throughout the season.
